Pocket Gnome: The Lowdown
Many forum regulars have noticed that I haven’t been around as much recently. Some might think it’s a bad thing, but it could end up being a good thing; so please, hear me out.
The truth is that my work on PG got me an incredible job offer. That is good (for me). The downside is I have no time left to seriously work on Pocket Gnome.
But do not despair! While I may not have time to update PG with my usual speed, I will do my utmost to make sure the project does not die. Attempting to understand and accommodate all the changes since patch 3.0.x has demonstrated to me, very succinctly, how much of an awkward situation I am in. I’ve ended up scrambling to fix bugs in PG while I’m still scrambling to understand wtf Blizzard did to the client.
So here’s the situation:
- It would be irresponsible for me to continue the project under my current life/time restrictions.
- I would like to ensure that the project does not die.
In a perfect world, I could sell the project or pass it on to another developer. So far, neither of these options has ended in results (For the record, if you are interested in purchasing or developing the Pocket Gnome project, please contact me: pocketgnome@_this_domain.com).
That said, I plan on open sourcing the project after WotLK hits.
